Kristen Anne Bell is an American actor and singer born in 1980. She is born in 1980 and is a Michigan native, born and was raised by her parents Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) and Tom Bell (a TV news director). Her ancestry is Polish (mother) as well as German, English, Irish and Scottish (father). Kristen was already an accomplished entertainer at an early stage. In 1992, she attended her first audition and won a role in Raggedy Ann and Andy. Bell's mother signed her up with an agency just before she turned 13; she later appeared on television commercials and newspaper ads. Bell also began taking private acting classes around that time. Bell played a brief, uncredited part in the film Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell was a part of the drama and music groups of Shrine Catholic High School. She was a part of Dorothy in the school production in The Wizard of Oz. Bell was a student of musical theatre at the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts in New York City after graduating. Bell quit the school in 2001 and began playing Becky, a character from Tom Sawyer. In 2001, it was also when Bell's debut appearance was in a movie that had been credited, Pootie Tang (2002). However, her part was cut and only the credits show her. Bell appeared alongside Angela Bettis and Liam Neeson in 2002's Broadway revival of The Crucible.
